BaselWorld 2012: Accutron Gemini Valjoux 64C104 Watch by Bulova

Swiss-American watch company Bulova at the annual watch and jewelry exhibition BaselWorld 2012 has introduced a new model of Accutron Gemini series - the Gemini Valjoux 64C104 watch, named after the eponymous space program of NASA. The novelty, according to company representatives, is designed to emphasize the connection of the legendary collection of Bulova Accutron and space technology. The line of Accutron, which brought worldwide fame of the company, was founded in the late 50s of last century. The watches of this series were extremely accurate: the error range is ± 2 seconds per day (minutes per month). Later, the legendary collection of Accutron has replenished by Gemini watch, which included models made in the style of the 60s, and embodied in their design dreams of a U.S. space exploration. Bulova watches are directly related to the Gemini space program: Bulova Accutron model with 24-hour dial was mounted in the dashboard modular bay of the spacecraft. Accurate and reliable calibers of timepieces played a significant role in the implementation of the Apollo space missions.
The new "space" model of Bulova is collected on the basis of the Swiss automatic movement ETA 7750 Valjoux, has capabilities to indicate hours, minutes (by using central hands), seconds (the seconds hand is displayed on a small dial, placed at the 9 o’clock position), date of week and the date (signs posted on the "3" o’clock position), and the chronograph (central seconds hand, 30-minute counter at 12 o'clock, 12-hour counter at 6 o'clock). Numerous indexes are shown in the functional chronograph dial in the most convenient form. The dial is striking its balanced structure and harmonious proportions: the indicators are integrated into the disk, taking into account ease of reading. To determine the basic function (current time) serve the central hands, oblong lance-type hour markers and the graded scale of minutes. The dial is protected by a curved anti-reflective sapphire crystal and placed in a stainless steel case with gold finishing. The watch comes on a dark brown leather strap.
Waterproof of the model allows descending to a depth of 50 meters.
