Geneva Time Exhibition 2012

From 15 to 20 of January, 2012, Geneva Time Exhibition, already won wide recognition in the watch world, will take place. The 3rd exhibition GTE will be hold in famous cultural center of Geneva “Espace Hippomène”, which offers light and comfortable exhibiting hall and various accommodations, like restaurants, bars, etc. The historic center “Espace Hippomène” has a very comfortable strategic location: near international airport of Geneva, main railway station, center of the city and main international organizations. The exhibition starts on 15th of January from 10.00 a.m. to 7 p.m. and ends on 20th of January from 10.00 a.m. to 7 p.m. 5000 visitors are expected to come to GTE in 2012.

The professionals of watch industry are gathered at GTE. The creativity, high quality and innovative approach changed that exhibition into ideal place for commercial and financial operations of highest level. Many representatives of watch industry visit this exhibition to learn the latest news about industry and to find new service-providers and potential partners. GTE is also a place for various mass media that cover latest trends and novelties of haute horlogerie. The exhibition also attracts great number of luxurious watch collectors and simply amateurs with great purchasing power. In 2011 the visitors from over 84 countries were at GTE. Their number is supposed to be significantly higher in 2012.
In 2011 the special prize from jury “GTE Superwatch” went to Frédéric Jouvenot. The prize also included free stand at GTE 2012 and place at cover of famous journal “Plaza Watch”.
GTE 2012 will welcome AHCI (Association of independent watchmakers), to say more exactly, Svend Andersen, Marc Jenni, Jean Kazes and Antoine Preziuso, who will present their new creations. “It is a real honor to welcome these prestigious watchmakers,” cited Florence Noël, Show Director. “The AHCI coming to GTE 2012 is part of the logic and continuity of our mission: promoting the art of making time in Geneva and beyond its frontiers”. Four famous members of AHCI at GTE 2012:
Antoine Preziuso – the famous watchmaker will present unique creation GTS - Grand Tourbillon Sport at GTE 2012. While many watch brands are conquering the space, Antoine obtains a firm plant on the ground and is addicted to races, interpreting it in tourbillion movement, set in case from new material ChromeCobalt.
Svend Andersen – he’s sometimes called “impossible watchmaker”, who regularly amazes watch world with his unique creations and inventions.
Marc Jenni – he has never dreamt of becoming a watchmaker. But the destiny ordered otherwise: at the age of 16 he was involved in watchmaking, working as a ferryman at famous company “Tiffany & Co”. In 2008 he felt that he was ready to create his own watch brand. Marc will present the model “Prologue”, equipped with black ring that rotates round its case, and also the model “JJJ” as his debut ones.
Jean Kazes – since 1972 Jean has been famous for his pendulum sculpture watch, which demonstrates purity of both simple and complicated movements (perpetual calendar, astronomic complications, world time, jumping hour). These creations are a symbol of harmony of traditional watchmaking and modern aesthetics.
GTE 2012 will support an amazing exhibition, devoted to horlogerie in Geneva, that will take place in Musée Rath. About 18.000 exhibits that will demonstrate the history of horlogerie development in Geneva, the center of whole European watch industry, will be presented.
