BaselWorld- 2014: Column-Wheel Monopusher Chronograph by Longines
The new model Column-Wheel Monopusher Chronograph, released by the Swiss brand Longines, will be officially presented at the international exhibition Baselworld- 2014 to be held from March 27 to April 3. The first wrist chronograph, released by Longines in 1913 and equipped with the manufacturing caliber 13.33z, became the prototype for the creation of the novelty.
For the manufacture of the round, polished watchcase is used stainless steel or 18 - carat pink gold. Waterproof up to 30 meters, the case has a diameter of 40 mm. At the 3 o’clock position, the fluted crown is installed, on the top of which is located the chronographic buttons. An anti-reflective sapphire crystal protects the case on the top and on the back cover.
The milky-white dial features printed black Roman or Arabic numerals and red numbers "12" or "XII". The central hands and hands of the indicators are made of blued steel. The small second’s hand is put on the lateral dial at the 9 o’clock position. The date is displayed by analog calibers, embedded into the aperture at the 6 o’clock position. Chronograph functions are displayed on a 30 - minute indicator at the 3 o’clock position and by a central second’s hand.
The novelty is based on a Swiss automatic movement L788.2, developed exclusively for Longines by ETA. The caliber is improved with one-button chronograph with column wheel, collected by 27 jewels. The caliber has the frequency of 28800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz). Power reserve - 54 hours. The Column-Wheel Monopusher Chronograph watch is available on an elegant dark brown leather strap, equipped with a stainless steel or 18 - carat pink gold buckle.
