BaselWorld 2012: DeWitt Presents a Novelty - Tourbillon Imperial Watch

The watch company DeWitt has presented at the annual international exhibition BaselWorld 2012 another new product, in the best traditions of the company - the Tourbillon Imperial watch, as noted by the creators of the model - an ode to the beauty of watchmaking. The original watch is made with a special emphasis on the most noble of all watch complications – split-chronograph - one of the most technically complex watch functions to illustrate the ingenuity and skill of watchmakers.
In the presented model Tourbillon Imperial are combined functions of time measuring and counting the time intervals. The watch is indexing time of day and at the same time makes it possible to measure the duration of an event.
The Tourbillon Imperial watch is a mechanical movement with manual winding, equipped with a tourbillon and a split-second chronograph, date display and moon phase indication. The balance Glucydur - the heart of the mechanism of the original model, which has a frequency balance of 28,000 vibrations per hour (3 Hz) and the Swiss anchor escapement.
Split-second chronograph has two placed one above the other hands to measure both periods of time as continuous and intermediate results. The chronograph itself is a construction with two columned wheels: the first column wheel is operated when chronograph begins to start, the second - is activated by pressing a button, which is placed on the crown.
The watch mechanism is made with a special finish - a coating of "black gold", and the balance wheel is made of pink gold 5N. Number of jewels is 29; the amount of detail is 342.
The case in round shape with a diameter of 44 mm and a total thickness of 14.85 mm is made of pink gold 750. The case back is sapphire, on the screws. The distance between the lugs is 21 mm.
The watch dial is chocolate brown, with a DeWitt Cotes de Geneve pattern. Counters are made of natural white mother of pearl, applied elements and rings are made of 5N pink gold. The hands are made in the form of double-edged swords with a slot, split hand - two thin, elegant hands.
The watch strap is made from natural matte alligator leather, with triple-folding clasp in pink gold 750, with an engraved monogram «W». The watch water-resistant is 30 meters.
