Van Cleef & Arpels Presents New Timepieces
The company Van Cleef & Arpels, known worldwide for its beautiful models, has developed and released new movements for its models from the Poetic Wish collection.
This line was created in 2006, has become the embodiment of an original idea - to turn the dimension of time into a fairy tale.
The two models in this collection are truly masterpieces of watchmaking. The watchmakers and designers have surpassed the limits of technical skill, turning into reality the most unbeatable ideas. The models are equipped with three integrated devices, which, besides decorative function show the hours and minutes. This is carried out due to the "poetic animation" and a mechanism with a 5-minute repeater. It sounds every hour, and then - every 5 minutes.
The crown at the 2 o’clock position starts in motion the animation. Lady Arpels Poetic Wish watch has a silhouette of a girl moving slowly toward the center of the dial, indicating the number of hours. This is the first animation. The second - nacreous clouds, which are moving horizontally toward her. When they meet, the bells of Notre Dame hear. Then from the clouds in the picture appears a kite for the indication of the minutes over the bells’ rhythm sound.
In another model - Midnight Poetic Wish a guy standing on one of the terraces of the towers of Notre Dame is moving slowly toward the center of the dial. This is done to indicate the hours. The second animation, as in the previous model is the nacreous clouds, floating horizontally toward him. When they meet, the bells of the Cathedral hear. From the clouds appears a brilliant shooting star across the sky to indicate the minutes over the bells’ rhythm sound.
In the mechanism of a 5 -minute repeater is used the low tone for hours and a high tone for the minutes. Models offer a dual time display.
The transparent back side enables to observe the work of a unique mechanism, hammers and gongs. There are two indices, one of which shows the hours and minutes, and the other - seconds.
The calibers have a frequency 21,600 vibrations per hour and a 60-hour power reserve.
