MeisterSinger Watches

The MeisterSinger philosophy is an original form of time creation.

MeisterSinger wristwatches are the combination of a classical watch movement and original design. Everything began with a watch with a one signal hour hand . MeisterSinger watches slightly imitate sundials and first mechanical watches that only had a one singular hand. It means the whole philosophy of creation. For most people a constant rush for time is a natural thing. A “normal” watch with two or three hands on the dial measure every second and minute. However, the starting point, from which a man realizes time as an appearance, is unknown. To the 17th century it was as natural that a watch had a one hand as two or three hands on the dial nowadays.

A minute and then a second hands were born in 17th century. This innovation changed attitude to the time: it was not only just a moment but, in the literal sense, the angle among moving hands. Standards, having been fixed from the first model launch, are being used in the company until now. The company's motto says: “Simplicity is more often best of all”. The symbol on the dial resembles the inverted fermata, a music sign of unlimited time to increase duration of a note and rest.  As if MeisterSinger timepieces say: “Rule over the time, do not submit to it”. Just with that philosophy a single hand on the dial is connected. Later on, however, a minute hand, like a tribute to society industrialization  and growing dependence of people on the time, then appeared in some models.

The company's history of establishment and development.

The beginning of MeisterSinger establishment is like a one-man show. In 2001, despite a complicated situation at the watch market, the company launched its first four watch lines later on turned into great success. In 2002 the first collection was expanded and added with three-handed  watches (models of a small 38 mm size were also available). In the same year MeisterSinger  visited the BaselWorld fair for the first time. Next year the company doubled its sales volume and  followed that way to 2005. Such unusual growth of the young company was a peculiar challenge to the rest of companies. The 1Z model with an enamel dial and the high-quality movement Unitas (consisting of 222 components) intended for complicated watch connoisseurs and presented at the BaselWorld fair, struck everyone.

In 2006 the company added the collection with the Unomatic model with the additional function: the power reserve.

Next year the company was awarded the “Good Design Award 2007” for the excellent model the MeisterSinger N°03 by  the Chicago Athenaeum. At the Baselworld, MeisterSinger reached record sales again.
In 2008  MeisterSinger with its specific watches came to the international market. The boards of two major design-centers awarded the Monograph for the outstanding design. The nomination of the Federal Republic of Germany subsequently followed.
2009 was the most successful year for the company's whole history. Despite a difficult economic situation for the watch industry, MeisterSinger continued to design new models.
2010 was the important year for the company: the company presented its new corporate design on the BaselWorld fair. An extensive image campaign carried the new design to the public. At the same time, MeisterSinger continued to expand and was available in Canada, Panama and India as well.

MeisterSinger: “Subordinate time to yourselves”

Albert Einstein once said: “Time is what you read on a clock”. MeisterSinger timepieces are intended for people who do not live by order of swift time but prefer to create time space and dominate over time and people. All MeisterSinger models draw attention with their extraordinary design. The German watch electronic magazine Uhrenmagazin, devoted to watches, noticed about the company's timepieces that, individually, every of components from which watches were being assembled, looked very unimpressive, but all together assembled in one watch look splendid. Manfred Brassler, the company's founder and owner, said concerning his watches that a one hand created an illusion of chronometric freedom.

MeisterSinger single-handed wristwatches have a manual winding movement. The No.01 model is equipped with the movement ÅÒÀ 2801 (a 38 mm diameter is a little bigger than a diameter of the Peseux model with the movement 7001). The No.02 model, followed the previous one, is outfitted with the moment ETA 6498 (well-known as the movement of Unitas pocket watches) of a 37,3 mm diameter. The movement occupies the whole free space and is covered with a transparent back case.

The MeisterSinger No.03 model with the automatic movement ÅÒÀ 2824-2 has two versions in size. But in this watch there is a new structure of the back secured with blue screws to the case. A wide ledge of this model is intended to engrave inscriptions that look more elegant and more effective than ones made by the laser. A dial is covered with a sapphire glass that is of much more quality than a mineral one. A case is made of stainless steel and of 43 mm diameter and of 9,8 mm thickness. A strap of the model is made of Louisiana crocodile leather. The company also offers  models with 38 mm cases and dials of silvery-white, black and ivory yellow colours.
