Glycine Airman 7Everyone who saw chronographsAirman 7 Plaza Mayor Glycine immediately memorized stylish big case with several dials which is characterized for avia chronometr. In fact, watch design Glycine Airman can't be mixed up with something and it guaranteed the model a lot of fans all over the world. The idea of creating this model was the result of long history unique Swiss brand. Manufacture Glycine which was founded in 1914 by Eugene Meilan in Bienn town Switzerland, several times managed to amaze watch society. The first time in 1931 when Glycine produced on the market split-second movement with amazingly rare auto-winding. The second in 1953 created chronographs for pilots of Airman with function UTS-24-hour indicator of Greenwich time. That days chronograph became one of pioneers in watchmaking with two time zones, since then Airman always exists in model range of Glycine and have a great success in flying and traveling owners of watch. Special success watch Airman had in American pilots during Vietnam war. In 1998 watch company Glycine surprised everyone third time by figure of highest mechanical pilotage became exclusive among watches with 24-hour scale chronometer with three time zones on the base of ETA2893-2 movement. In 2002 hurried another novelty -Airman 7- watch with three independent  movements in one case, with automatic winding, showing time at the same time in four different time zones on three independent dials. The size of this new Airman went ahead even classic massive diver chronographs: for three movements there should be case in diameter of 53 mm. But the fame of large watches was only on the first step of creation. Next years were dedicated to improvement and modification of successful novelty. There was made variant with gold cover, and also limited series were successful in square case and model decorated with brilliant dial. Three movements and four time zones was unchanged. The main dial is situated on mark of “3 hours”. On the standard 12-hour scale it shows local hours, minutes and seconds. The fourth red hand on 24-hour scale shows second time zone. For example, it can be tuned on Greenwich longitude. From the other side one can see that hands are set in motion by automatic movement ETA 2893-2-engine with a rhodium-plated and decorated with engraving “Geneva waves”. The dials on the marks “8 hours” and “10 hours” show hours and minutes in two time zones. These details Airman 7 work on small automatic movements ETA 2671-2. Thank to large size and also hands covering and all hour marks by solution SuperLuminova, watch data can be read easily. The main thing for watch owner is to remember on what exactly city tuned every dial. Massive case Airman 7 is made of steel and withstand pressures up to 5 atm. Covering and treatment of metal can vary from satin stainless steel surface to high quality covering by black DLC. Also Glycine company uses cases from titanium and solid gold. But no matter what color model Glycine is, about its owner always can be said that he is an unusual person, who has original taste and can estimate bright modernity and Swiss traditions.
