The G-Shock's technology

Concave construction.
Chronograph's concave construction prevent module from external influences. Urethane bezel completely closes all the parts, preventing on the glass damage from shock directed on the glass and buttons. Cushioning material provides protection components such as quartz oscillator, which is located inside the module chronograph. These and many other high-impact technology, G-SHOCK evenly distributed in the depth of each model to ensure the highest strength of all the important parts.
Concave construction of watch case.
The high protection G-Shock guarantee with the help of mount the module inside the case at several points. It creates a feeling as if module floating in the air. Chronograph case's design requires full protection from free fall of watches. Convex shape of the bezel is made in such a way for protection from glass damage and buttons from shocks in falling under different  angles and contact with surface. This design are used for all G-Shock watches. By the way, not only cases covered with urethane rubber have protection structure, but also another watches with analogue dial. 
Strap-shock.
The strap always absorbs shocks directed on the watches in front. We have established rigorous standards for the proportion of urethane rubber. Not very soft and not very hard material of chronograph cases perfectly balances between overstrength and comfortable fit.
Coverage in all directions.
With the help of coverage of bezel by urethane rubber, button and glass of watches G-Shock prevented from special influence outside. In models which made from steel with low resistance to shock, the company got reliability with the help of dunnage introduction between bezel and chronograph case.
The protection of necessary elements.
Quartz oscillator and other parts of watch are completely protected by amortization material. It warns of incorrect operation of the movement for distortion, which can be in case damaging effect on the module.
Shockproof steel bracelet.
Steel bracelet is made from shockproof parts. Watch's protection from shocks during fall is achieved by acceptable intervals between the units belt, allowing flex watches at up to 150 degrees.
