Oris Big Crown Pointer Date: Oxblood Red for $2,400

Oris Big Crown Pointer Date, reference 01 754 7798 4038-07 8 20 06, adds an oxblood-red dial at $2,400 in the US. The new color joins the contemporary Big Crown range, pairing a dark red face with white printing and a steel exterior. Fratello reported the introduction on November 3, 2026.
A date scale around the dial
A separate central hand indicates the date against the numbered scale at the dial’s perimeter. Its arrow tip uses a brighter red than the dial beneath it. Hours, minutes and seconds have their own central hands; the calendar is read from the outer scale instead of an aperture.
The hour markers are applied Arabic numerals with luminous material. Pencil-shaped hour and minute hands replace the cathedral-style hands associated with the traditional Big Crown, while a smooth bezel takes the place of the older coin-edge profile. A railway minute track sits inside the calendar scale.
Oris traces the Big Crown Pointer Date to its aviation watch introduced in 1938. The current collection includes an H-link bracelet developed with an Oris clasp. On this reference, brushed surfaces alternate with polished connecting links, and the bracelet closes with a push-button butterfly clasp.

Automatic movement and specifications
The red winding rotor is visible through a mineral-glass window in the screwed steel caseback. Above the dial, the sapphire crystal is domed on both sides and has an internal antireflective coating. The movement provides instantaneous date change, a date corrector and stop-seconds for setting the time. Its operating frequency is 28,800 vibrations per hour. The standard two-year warranty can be extended to three years through MyOris registration.
