Two models from the Hampton collection by Baume & Mercier at SIHH 2012

At the Geneva exhibition SIHH 2012 the Swiss watch company Baume & Mercier has introduced two models from the Hampton collection (Ref. 10 047 and 10 048).

Hampton collection was inspired by a museum exhibit of '40s and retains the vintage style - rectangular cases with architectural lines and features that reflect the modern casual lifestyle. Lines of watches made in the spirit of Art Deco, combines in harmony with the warm colors of pink gold or silver and anthracite tone. Every detail with the efforts of masters and designers, the company has been configured to capture a memory of the most important life moments.

In the new models the masters have chosen to use an element that was absent in the other watches of the line. This lack of a single attribute - a bracelet made of stainless steel. To complement the collection of new models with a new element, the company has two automatic models with steel polished and satin bracelet, equipped by a triple folding clasp with lock, ensuring comfort and safety of wearing the watches. Since the Baume & Mercier has strict compliance guidelines in creating high-quality form and finish, the technical realization of Hampton watches were not easy. To develop the tools necessary to create models of Hampton with elegant symmetrical cases, the department of technical developments has spent months.
Along with the new Hampton watches the striking is also news about the development and production of new bracelets for the two automatic watches. Bracelets, consisting of a polished and satin steel units feature a unique clasp with lock function.
The model Hampton 10 047 is equipped with steel polished and satin case, which diameter is 45 x 32.3 mm and a thickness of 10.85. The silver dial features Arabic numerals, the central indication of hours and minutes and small seconds hand located at 6 o’clock position. The date aperture is set at 3 o’clock position. The dial is protected by an antiglare scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. The case back is attached to the body with 4 screws. The watch water-resistant - 50 meters. The model is equipped with an automatic ETA 2895 on the 27 jewels; power reserve is 42 hours, with the functions of the hours, minutes, small second hand at the 6 o’clock position and date display at 3 o’clock position.
The model Hampton 10 048 is also provided with the case made of polished and satin steel, equipped with the same mechanism and the same functions. A distinctive feature of these two models is the color of the dial. The Hampton 10 048 watch’s dial is made of black opal. A gorgeous innovation is the steel bracelet of the both models with a clasp with lock.
Two models will be available in spring 2012.
