At the annual exhibition of watches and jewelry BaselWorld 2013, the French watchmaker 4N, founded by Francois Quentin, has presented the limited watch 4N-MVT01. This is an exclusive model with a time display in entirely new ways without using a traditional 12 - hour dial.
MVT01 watch by 4N
The watch movement is based on the configuration of the 3 groups of unevenly rotating discs which are made of an alloy of nickel and silicon. Discs are enclosed in a special carbon carriage.
4 discs of one group show the hours, 5 discs of the second group show minutes and 1 disc of the third group shows a tenth of a minute. At the first glance, it might thus seem rather complicated, but it is worth a little bit to watch the changing of the numbers on the dial, as a principle of action of this unique watch to become very clear. In the center of the dial is orange frame that displays the current hour and minute. The dial is made of high-strength scratch-resistant sapphire crystal.

The novelty MVT01 is collected on the base of a complex caliber with manual winding, ensuring the most accurate time with minimum energy consumption. The mechanism is developed with the participation of manufacture APRP (Audemars Piguet Renaud & Papi) and is intended to simultaneously solve the problem of balance, friction and inertia of the device. The movement consists of 520 components, assembled at 78 jewels, equipped with frequency of 21,000 vibrations per hour and 10-day power reserve.
Manually such watches were collected 16 pieces of different case materials: 18-carat white gold, platinum and titanium. Bracelets from different high quality materials can be chosen independently.
