Konstantin Chaykin Presents Cinema Timepiece with Animation
The novelty is devoted to Eadweard Muybridge, a photographer and inventor who is considered one of the ancestors of modern cinema. He first made a series of photographs of a galloping horse at different points in its motion. Muybridge is an inventor of zoopraxiscope, a device for projecting films, which existed before the celluloid film. It is thanks to this device, the horse is able to "recover" - rapidly shifting images create the effect of the animals’ motion.
The master said, "Clocks with animation are known to mankind since ancient times. As at the time the theater became the basis for the creation of feature films, as a classic watch with jaquemarts allowed arisen a new trend – a watch with the cinema. The potential of the idea is limitless and experiments in this area are just beginning."

The novelty Cinema has a rectangular case, made of stainless steel treated with the use of polishing, buffing and satin. The dial with the design resembles an old camera lens. Scales of the hours and minutes indicating are made in the form of rings of the lens. The original dial is guilloché and coated with black lacquer. At the 6 o’clock position is a circular aperture, which opens with the image of a running horse with a rider.
On the sides of the case are symmetrically arranged a crown and a button on the animation function. Thanks to the back of the transparent cover is visible the work of a non-standard caliber. The novelty is equipped with two mechanisms: the watch movement and the animation mechanism, which is similar to the design of the zoopraxiscope. During power of animation, the watch is kind of a little film - a galloping horse with a rider.
