M.A.D. Gallery of MB & F Presents Miki Eleta’s Clock
In the M.A.D. gallery of the company MB & F held recently the world premiere of a new watch ob the Zurich watchmaker Miki Eleta.
The grandfather clock Hippocampus in height of 2.8 meters is equipped with an Eleta’s escapement, developed by a watchmaker to the anchor mechanism in the form of a sea horse and has a musical mechanism, which melodies are not repeated for over 100 years. He created kinetic sculptures and knew nothing about watchmaking until 2001, when one of the clients challenged the accuracy of its products. Eleta then accepted the challenge and decided to create a full clock, confirming accuracy of its work. It took a year for the acquisition of knowledge about the watch mechanics and creation his first model.

Miki, who is a member of the Academy of Independent Watchmakers (AHCI) since 2005, creates two models a year. According to his statement, “I am not smarter than everyone else, just more stubborn. " He developed his own escapement Eleta-Hemmung, which is equipped with many of its complicated watches.
The Continuum Mobile watch is driven by a hidden in its basement and different weights installed on an inclined axis of the tourbillon. Miki called Continuum “a watch, inspiring him." Winding is carried out by using a key and provides up to 100 hours of running.

Die Sieben plays 16 different tunes through 16 tunnels along the circumference columns, where the steel balls in their motion, touch the pentatonic 16 cylinders and 47 wheels. These wheels return balls back to the tunnels, and play of melodies are repeated only once in seven years.
