Gustafsson & Sjogren presents models of Damascus steel
The Scandinavian company Gustafsson & Sjogren announced a release of new seasonal models Nordic Seasons, made of Damascus steel - an artificial composite material with a patterned surface and rich decorative features. As the founders Patrik Sjogren and Johan Gustafsson mention the inspiration for the creation of new watches served a "polar cold of Scandinavia."
Nordic Seasons watch
Landscapes of reserved and cold Scandinavian nature are "recreated" on the case and dial with the chaotic patterns of Damascus. Watches are made in the traditional Scandinavian style: crisp lines, concise design, simplicity of form, harmony of the asymmetry and contrasting colors, born of the northern land of fjords and cold sea. Creation of new seasonal models masters of Gustafsson & Sjogren projected traditions of ancient Norse culture, with its emphatic coldness and austerity in the aesthetics of modern times. Nordic Seasons watches, symbolizing the different seasons, have been released in limited edition of 20 pieces (for each season five models). Novelties as noted above, are presented in the case of Damascus steel with diameter of 45 mm and height - 10 mm. Large hastate hands and hour indices are made of gold (the "winter" models - made of white gold, the "summer" - in red).
