In 2010, the watch company DeWitt broke into the elite community of companies that produce watches based on the mechanisms of its own production, launched a Twenty-8-Eight Tourbillon watch based on the manufactory caliber DW8028. This breakthrough has provided the company a place among famous watch companies, with their own independent developments. And, paying tribute to his special caliber, at the annual international watch exhibition the company has introduced a new variation of the model – a watch Twenty-8-Eight Tourbillon (Ref: T8.TH.010).
The dualistic model's design is based on a combination of contrasting gray-anthracite and "galvanic" black colors that emphasize the relief of the dial.
In the production of the model is used titanium Grade 5, which initially applied in areas such as aerospace, surgery, the production of "Formula 1" racing cars. Titanium Grade 5 is a material that is 10 times superior to conventional titanium for durability, and new titanium is much lighter.
These new features titanium takes in the result of special processing. The method consists in an arc electric plasma processing, in which the material is kept in a special fluid through which an electric current of high voltage. Through this procedure, the material becomes easier and is especially incredible resistance to the effects of random shocks, damage, abrasion and tracks touch.
The watch dial is the courageous example of design, talking about the aesthetics of dualism. Masculinity of the design is emphasized by the stylized construction in the spirit of art-deco style of the columns DeWitt at the top of the dial. Among other things, the overall design of the dial is associated with a frontal view of a steam engine of the 1930s.
The lower part of the dial forms a wide range of indices, which, as noted by the creators of the model, represents wholeness, the infinite nature of energy and, surprisingly, the power of the feminine.
To the heart mechanism a round hole leads, which is protected by a translucent bars, inciting curiosity and desire to know what's going on inside.
The lower part of the dial is decorated with guilloche pattern in the form of sunlight. As for the colors, the dial - bi-color and is divided into two parts by the color.
The second zone is formed by rhodium or palladium trim ring with Roman or Arabic temporary indexes. The hands of the model are executed in the form of swords, and two polished applied rings, located at the 3 and 9 o’clock positions, symbolize children.
High class of the represented model is confirmed by the decoration of the watch: an exceptional quality craftsmanship of the masters can be seen by a tiny label with the name of the wizard, located on the barrel bridge. This is - another testimony to the love and pride of making DeWitt watches.
The Twenty-8-Eight Tourbillon watch is made on the basis of the manufacturing of mechanical caliber with manual winding and tourbillon, on the basis of 19 jewels. The frequency of the balance is 18,000 vibrations per hour, the balance - with a variable moment of inertia. The total number of movement’s details is 185.
The round watch case in diameter of 43 mm and thickness of 10.48 mm is made of pink gold 750 and titanium Grade 5. The polished crown is made of white gold and adorned with a ring of blackened titanium and monogrammed “W”. The distance between the lugs is 21 mm. The case back is a sapphire crystal on the screws.
The watch strap is made of genuine matte black alligator leather. Buckle - spin, polished, made of pink gold 750, with an engraved monogram “W”. The watch water-resistant is 30 meters.
