BaselWorld 2012: Twenty-eight Eight Skeleton Tourbillon Watch by DeWitt
The young watch company DeWitt has presented at the international exhibition BaselWorld 2012 the watch Twenty-eight-Eight Skeleton Tourbillon (Ref: T8.TH.008, Ref: T8.TH.009). The new watch is a complex, well-designed model, the main feature of which is a skeletonized mechanism.
As far as the technical part of the presented model, the basis of the watch is the manufactory caliber DW8028, which presents a well proven mechanism in practice, with a frequency balance of 18,000 vibrations per hour, with the balance of the variable moment of inertia, the descent from an elevation angle of 440 and a power reserve of 72 hours.
In this mechanism, the brand’s master along with manual winding and tourbillion of own production, used a Swiss anchor trigger and spiral Straumann Hairspring ® with the Phillips curve, made of highly durable alloy that is not oxidized and affected by magnetic fields. Among other things, as a material for the balance, anchor fork and escapement wheel, the developers used the yellow gold 750.
The Twenty-eight Eight Skeleton Tourbillon watch should not be regarded as a competitive model of ultra-thin and fragile skeleton, which maximally "liberated" from the material. Quite the contrary, when creating the Twenty-eight-Eight Skeleton Tourbillon watch one of the conditions was to keep the structural strength, harmoniously balance it with a case design, decorated with a pattern of 48 imperial columns - a characteristic of almost all watches by DeWitt.
Delicate foundation of the mechanism is made of brushed nickel silver, plated with black gold and this caliber, which is shown in yellow gold. You'll also be pleasantly surprised to suddenly find at the "9" o’clock position the monogram «W», which seems woven into the lace of the skeletonized mechanism.
DeWitt company's products can be characterized as the brightness of the three-dimensional perspective and multi-level design, and the Twenty-eight-Eight Skeleton Tourbillon watch - is no exception.
Presented at the exhibition the Twenty-eight hours-Eight Skeleton Tourbillon watch operates on the basis of mechanical, skeletonized mechanism based on 19 jewels of 185 parts, with manual winding and tourbillon - in-house development by DeWitt. Balance - with a variable moment of inertia, the frequency of balance - 18,000 vibrations per hour. Spiral - Straumann Hairspring ® with the Phillips curve, 2.5 Hz. Power reserve - 72 hours, water-resistant - 30 meters.
The round watch case diameter of 43 mm and a thickness of 10.78 mm are made of white or pink gold 750. The polished crown is decorated with a ring of blackened titanium and monogrammed «W».
The watch case is decorated with a pattern on both sides with the imperial columns DeWitt, the bezel is encrusted with 36 baguette-cut diamonds (Ref: T8.TH.009). The case back is sapphire.
The hands of the model are executed in the form of double-edged sword with a slot. The watch strap: chocolate brown or black matt, of genuine alligator. Clasp: white or pink gold 750, polished, with encrusted monogram «W».
