Swiss watch conpany Dubey & Schaldenbrand has released a vintage model Grand Dome DT Vintage 1946. This watch is devoted to the traditions of brand, leading its history since 1946, when the teacher of the chronometric School in La Chaux-de-Fonds by the name of George Dubey, along with a watchmaker Rene Schaldenbrand founded Dubey & Schaldenbrand.
The Grand Dome DT Vintage 1946 watch has a barrel-shaped case, made of steel with the dimensions 52x37 mm. On the right are: a crown and two buttons at the 2 and 4 o’clock positions. Minute and hour hands have a luminous white finish to ensure readability in the dark. Also there is a fourth central hand, which is the date indicator - the 31st day is marked on the circular scale at the center. The position "12 o'clock" is a double aperture of the day and month, as well as a 30-minute chronological counter. In front of it, at the position of 6 o’clock there is an indicator of lunar phases and the 12-hour counter.
Implementation of all the above-mentioned functions is involved by an automatic mechanism Valjoux 7751, decorated with beautiful exquisite engraving, which includes also the emblem of the village of Le Pont-de-Martel, which is home of the brand Dubey & Schaldenbrand. A special delicacy of Grand Dome DT Vintage 1946 movement’s engraving contrasts with the relatively simple ivory dial.
The Grand Dome DT Vintage 1946 watch is produced in a limited edition of 65 items. It is supplied on a black crocodile leather strap.
Particular prominence has been brought by a granddaughter of Antoine LeCoultre Cinett Robert, led the Dubey & Schaldenbrand company. Dubey worked on a new chronograph seconds splitting system, founded by Joseph Vinnerl, who had lived one century before that time. He designed a simple principle, which was genius in its sense: a spiral spring, situated between the dial and the crystal was driven by pressing a button, situated on the crown, and launched chronograph's second hand, enabling you to measure a time period up to 58 seconds.
