The presentation of 3 Grieb & Benzinger models for the total amount of 1200000 Euro
At the exclusive presentation in Singapore, featuring guests from Rolls-Royce Motorcars company and the Revolution Magazine 2 models were presented for the first time: the Blue Danube (a unique skeletonized chronograph with split-seconds and a minute repeater) and the Blue Whirlwind (a unique chronograph with a minute repeater) as well as the legendary Blue Sensation by Grieb & Benzinger, the only skeletonized chronograph regulator watch with split seconds in the market.
These unique timepieces are based on the rare Patek Philippe caliber, which was fully disassembled, improved and then assembled again in Grieb & Benzinger signature style. It took more, than 12 months of meticulous restoration using traditional watchmaking techniques to recreate these unique pieces in solid platinum cases with the total value of 1200000 Euro (1500000 US dollars).
The unforgettable peculiarities of these great time measuring instruments are the sophisticated guilloche and skeletonized dials, made of Sterling silver with the unique Breguet Frosting finish, done only by Grieb & Benzinger, the hand-skeletonized cases with manual engraving. Once again the company proves, that its complicated masterpieces are not just watches, but “objets d’art” (objects of art). The same way as the world's art most wanted masterpieces, such as Leonardo Da Vinci's “Mona Lisa” and Van Gogh's “Sunflowers”, Grieb & Benzinger Platinum watches are executed in single pieces, which will add to their collection value in future.
The Blue Danube model is a unique skeletonized chronograph with split-seconds and a minute repeater, based on a movement, produced in about 1890 and fully restored. Considering, that the caliber is over 120 years old, its meticulous restoration required a great deal of attention. The result, enclosed in a solid platinum 43-mm case became an undisputed sensation and a tribute to historical watchmaking. The model's retail price is about 350000 Euro or 450000 American dollars.
The Blue Whirlwind model is a unique tourbillon with a minute repeater, based on the legendary R TO 27 PS caliber from Patek Philippe. The same movement has recently become a real sensation of Only Watch charity auction in Monaco, where the exclusive Patek Philippe Tourbillon Minute Repeater model in a stainless steel case with the R TO 27 PS movement installed was sold for 1,4 million Euro. This time measuring instruments is fascinating, as it's the first men's wrist watch, based on a Patek Philippe movement with a visible tourbillon. Moreover, the mysterious gearing wheel, seen at the watch's back, replaces the traditional gold tourbillon driving wheel. Who else would dare to refine such a movement, if not the guys from Grieb & Benzinger? This Swiss wrist watch with the value of 650000 Euro (about 850000 American dollars) undoubtedly became an adornment of the presentation for watchmaking art connoisseurs.
The third model, produced as a single piece, the Blue Sensation is the only skeletonized chronograph-regulator with split-seconds in the market, based on a caliber, produced in 1890, fully reassembled and technically perfected. With the 49-mm diameter and overall weight of 230 grams this chronograph-regulator seems rather huge compared to other luxe class watches, though you can buy the Grieb & Benzinger Blue Sensation watch for a rather affordable price – 200000 Euro (260000 American dollars).
All these outstanding pieces of high watchmaking art prove once again the soundness of the company's concept, including creation of uotstanding watches, requiring highest levels of craftsmanship and production of heaviest platinum watches.
