New models from the Poetic Wish collection by Van Cleef & Arpels at SIHH 2012

The world-famous jewelry house Van Cleef & Arpels at the SIHH 2012 exhibition, held in Geneva, has presented a new collection of elegant watches Poetic Wish.
Poetic Wish is a collection of delightful watches, each of which is a world full of romance and love. Exclusive models of this line were created by skilled hands of talented artists. This is an outstanding watchmaker Jean-Marc Viderreht and master of enamel Dominique Baron. It should be noted that their talent and boundless imagination are reflected in every model of this collection. Viderreht devoted himself to developing complex functions of time, equipping models with additional features. He has reached the surprising sophistication that allows making a reality of the most intimate and seemingly unbelievable dreams. Talent of Viderreht continues Dominique Baron, who has managed to breathe life into a series of landscapes.

Each model from the Poetic Wish collection is full of emotions, transmitting a story of love and fabulous world. The Lady Arpels Poetic watch of the Poetic Wish collection represents a landscape of Paris. The Eiffel Tower, pictured on the left side of the dial is made of white gold. The tower is shown in such a way that opened beneath it the landscape of Paris is visible from the heights. Shadows of mother-of-pearl clouds are visible in the waters of the Seine. In the center of the dial is drawn the Notre Dame Cathedral - a symbol of the French capital. A young girl, who is pictured on the terrace of the Eiffel Tower first floor, is in a hurry for a date. Gorgeous picture shown on the dial is enclosed in a circular case made of white gold and decorated with diamonds. The model is complemented by a strap, made of pearl-gray silk and leather.

Continuation of the same theme is presented on the dial of another model - Midnight Poetic Wish. The watch dial is a picture of the twilight. A young man standing on top of the Notre Dame tower is shown on the left side of the dial. The last rays of the sun illuminate the stained glass windows of the cathedral. A young man goes out to the terrace of the tower under the rhythm of Notre Dame Bells. The scene comes alive to the ringing of bells, and a brilliant meteor appears. The star is a messenger of desires and move toward the Eiffel Tower, minute by minute.
A delightful picture, shown on the dial, is housed in a round case in white gold, adorned with large diamonds. The watch lugs are also encrusted with diamonds. The model is complemented by the strap, made of two materials: suede and leather in dark blue color, which harmonizes with the dark sky, depicted on the dial.

It should be noted that each model from the Poetic Wish collection is a technical mastery of watchmaking, which increased the virtuosity of artistic skill: sculptors, painters, jewelers. The uniqueness of this watch is not only to the original images on the dial, but at the time indication. Mechanisms that are inserted into the watch, features hours and minutes functions, which are displayed by means of "poetic animation" on the dial. In the model of Lady Arpels Poetic Wish the hour indication is carried out by the silhouette of a young girl, slowly moving toward the center of the dial. And pearl clouds, moving horizontally, indicate minutes. When they meet, hear the bells of Notre Dame. Similarly, one can determine the time of the Midnight Poetic Wish watch: a young man, slowly moving toward the center, is indicating the exact hour. Minutes are displayed by means of a meteor; it appears from the clouds, flying across the sky.
All models are equipped with this special patented mechanism with a frequency of 21 600 vph and power reserve of 60 hours.
