“Fight, Love & Persevere” in the new model Spirit by the company Speake-Marin

The English - Swiss watchmaker Speake-Marin presented the world premiere at the SalonQP. The new model Spirit, presented in limited edition of 68 pieces, is unlike to any of the company’s previous models.
"Independence is transformed into a brand!" At first glance - this is an impossible task, but with Peter Speake - Marin (Peter Speake-Marin), everything is possible. This talented watchmaker gave the brand his name in 2000, but he continued to work for other watchmakers and watch companies until 2008. And only this year when the world is completely overwhelmed by serious financial problems, Speake - Marin finally decided to fully focus on their own watches and direct all his energy to new creations. Speake – Marin always works on unique pieces in collaboration with such artists as Kees Engelbarts. Originally from London, Speake-Marin, who works in Switzerland, wanted to present to the watch market their own creations, unlike the models of other companies. Under the barrage of critics’ exclamations he was able to achieve this due to the model Thalassa and his own mechanism Caliber SM2.
At SalonQP the latest creation of Speake-Marin made a real boom: 38 - millimeter typical Piccadilly case is made of stainless steel. The case is not a single element, borrowed from previous models: the hands have the same shape as the original model Foundation Watch. On the reverse side of the watch you can see the rotor of mechanism Caliber FW2012, which is made in typical design of the Speake-Marin.
At first glance at this novelty, it becomes obvious that this pilot's watch is quite different from the usual watches of the master.
"The creation of the model Spirit was inspired by watch I bought fifteen years ago, when I was restoring the antique pieces in Piccadilly. It was a real military watch of the first half of 20 - th century, which I restored in my spare time and regularly wore as a personal timepiece. I've always wanted to create my own watches based on that model. This idea stayed with me even after the establishment of my own brand Speake-Marin”, - 43 - year-old master explained the creation of this new, not like the other models.
The vintage watch Longines, so beloved by the master 15 years ago, apparently meant a lot to him. However, the new model embodies more than just memories. First it is available watch for those who wish to have at least one model of a famous master Speake-Marin - retail price of the model is 9800 Swiss francs. This is made possible by the use of the remaining stock of movement Caliber FW2012, ETA - based, which he also used in the Piccadilly line. The limited edition in only 68 pieces is due to the number of remaining movements on the stock.
Perhaps, another striking feature of the new model Spirit is an engraving on the case back: "Fight, Love & Persevere". It is some kind of message and personal motto of the talented watchmaker.
"The global economic recession and natural disasters over the past few years have led to the fact that people around the world, including myself, had to deal with growing problems, which have become a challenge to the endurance limit of man. In my observations I am most struck by the willingness of people to fight on, adapt and follow along as well as their ability to love, which never diminishes. Theme of determination, perseverance and love spinning in my head while I was making this watch, which is why I gave them the name “Spirit” and adorned case back with the motto engraving", - Speake-Marin explained the meaning of the new model’s name and engraving.
Powerful and bright in all respects the watch Spirit of Speake-Marin became a hit among visitors SalonQP. Apparently, the new model Spirit will have its happy owners very soon.
