High up in the Swiss Jura mountains, in a small village Villeret the elite Swiss watch manufactory is located. Despite that this small company, sooner belonged to the Richemont Group, now does to the Montblanc company, could offer his mite in the watch industry. The company's name speaks for itself: Minerva is a Roman goddess of war and reason. Inside this small factory the watch wisdom really reigns.
The manufactory Minerva is one of the oldest situated in Switzerland, and today everything there looks like the same as 153 years ago. Everything started in 1858 when the brothers Charles-Yvan and Hyppolite Robert began making their own watches. It was more a workshop, and the brothers bought all components outside and then assembled usual wristwatches under their own brand called C. Robert. However, they equipped watches with a crown (a new thing of that time) that allowed to adjust indication of hands. Watches made by the brothers were so magnificent that soon they became famous outside the limits of Switzerland. The brothers received awards at the international exhibitions in Antwerpen (1885) and Paris (1889). For some time they are considered to be a watch manufactory and on July 30, 1887 it was given the name Minerva. Since 1902 it has been producing watches with in-house made movements and cases, and the cal.3  became the basis for Minerva watches for next years and is now used. On its basis the first mechanical stopwatch of frequency 360,000 vph was created in 1935.

In 1998 the company made the model of wristwatches called Tablier which was the most complicated watch ever been made by the brand. This model, based on the classical chronograph 20, was added with a full calender and a moonphase indicator. On the gold bezel, the laurel wreath, a symbol of the roman goddess Minerva, was engraved. It was a limited edition of 50 pieces.
In honor of its 140's anniversary the company launched the limited collection of wristwatches. A 43 mm case is made of stainless steel, a dial is coveredMinerva watch assembly with a sapphire glass, a strap is of Mississippi crocodile leather.
Today, within the Minerva company, everything is still the same. Movements are being assembled and decorated by hand by skillful watchmakers, every of which completely makes wristwatches by his own from beginning to end. The company produces four types of watch movements for the Montblanc company. Being a member of this company, Minerva only changed the perception conception of its watches. Minerva wristwatches completely correspond to the brand's chosen conception.
