Badollet mechanisms: traditions and innovations

Neoclassicism - a distinctive feature of style of the watch company Badollet, which in creating its own watches pays tribute to the best traditions of Haute Horlogerie, which the masters of company harmoniously combine with the technologies of the 21st century.
Since the mid-20th century, beginning with 1655, the company was owned by the family of the watch craftsmen who kept their skills and secret knowledge and passed on from father to son, from Geneva - to London and up to Philadelphia. The company has passed its way from the development of a pocket watch to a wristwatch of high class in performance and up till now Badollet is constantly striving for perfection, combining pre-existing mechanisms that are time tested with the latest technological developments.
When creating its watches Badollet adheres to the principle: "All the functions of the movement in our time have been invented, but nothing prevents to improve them constantly, making more entertaining and enjoyable for customers." With this approach, the watches of company so harmoniously combine the reliability of machinery and technical sophistication with lightness of construction and clear design that is constantly updated and not tired the exacting public.
All of the mechanisms on which the watches of company are established - own production. The mechanisms, developed Badollet, are characterized by high accuracy, high-quality materials and a special approach to creating. That only is the caliber BAD 5600, made on the basis of rubies and decorated in the semblance of a bamboo forest!
Today, the company presents four calibers, each of which - a unique product, which appeared as a result of many years of innovations and hard work of skilled watchmakers.

The calibre BAD 1630
The mechanical movement of the manual winding with escapement mechanism, made in Switzerland, has a 120-hour power reserve indicator located on the back side. The main plate is made of a meteorite Cape York, the mechanism bridges are arranged in a galactic circle. The mechanism is also equipped with tourbillon carriage located at position "6" hour. The number of mechanism lines is 13 (the line - the traditional way of movement size measuring, which is equal to 2.255mm), the number of stones - 27 rubies. The height of the tourbillon cage - 7.8 mm, the overall diameter of the case – 30,4 mm. The frequency of the balance - 21,600 vph (3 Hz).

Mechanism BAD 1602
The mechanical movement with manual winding and Swiss escapement mechanism has a 120-hour power reserve indicator located on the back side of the case. Chronograph mechanism is equipped with a single button, with direct coupling to the tourbillon cage, which is located at position "6" hour.  The number of mechanism lines - 13 (the line - the traditional way of movement size measuring, which is equal to 2.255mm), the number of stones - 27 rubies. The height of the tourbillon cage - 7.8 mm, the overall diameter of the case - 4.30 mm. The frequency of the balance - 21,600 vph (3 Hz).

Mechnism BAD 1655
The mechanical movement with manual winding and the Swiss trigger, equipped with a tourbillon, has a 80-hour power reserve. Tourbillon cage is located at position "6" hour. The minute repeater with the "hitting” mechanism is located at position "9" o'clock. The number of mechanism lines - 13 (the line - the traditional way of movement size measuring, which is equal to 2.255mm), the height of the tourbillon cage - 8.85 mm, the overall diameter of the case – 30,4 mm. The frequency of the balance - 21,600 vph (3 Hz).

Mechanism BAD 5600
At first caliber BAD 5600 appeared in honor of exotic plants and the growing popularity of the wristwatches, which are made of bamboo. The mechanism of the manual winding based on the 19 jewels, is equipped with a Swiss escapement movement and a tourbillon. This mechanism is unique because of handmade bridges forms: material for steel bridges is aluminum and lithium. The mechanism bridges are reminiscent of the bamboo forests architecture. However, this construction is not just a designer's whim: the  feature of the  "bamboo" mechanism is an ultra-light weight.
The main plate and other details of the mechanism are made of nielloed gold (nielloed gold - the common gold covered with black rhodium). The main plate and the bridges are made of aluminum and magnesium, the overall construction of which is a peculiar picture of bamboo forest. Tourbillon cage is located at position "6" hour. The size of the rectangular mechanism is 26.75x31.90 mm, frequency of the balance - 21,600 vph (3 Hz), and power reserve - 120 hours.

In 9 October 2010 the company introduced a wristwatch Crystalball Bamboo, which could be fully fit in the watch creating concept of the company. The inspiration for the creation of an accessory was served the Asian structures from bamboo.
The basis of Crystalball Bamboo became the in-housed mechanism BAD 5600, the design and location of the bridges is reminiscent of a bamboo forest. The typical style of the Badollet watch is expressed in “easy" model’s design, which is combined with modern materials: some watch elements are made of an alloy of lithium and aluminum, the wheels and the barrel are made of platinum plated with black gold.
The case size of  Crystalball Bamboo with  40x43 mm and the thickness of 14 mm is made of 18 carat gold coated with palladium. Case encrusted with 52 diamonds baguette-cut. The unfastened one-minute tourbillon is visible from the dial. The oscillation frequency of the balance of the model is 21,600 vph. The power reserve is 120 hours. Water resistant is up to 30 meters. The mechanism with self-winding is on the base of the 19 jewels. The strap is made of genuine alligator leather.
The designers of this model offer a wide variety of Crystalball Bamboo, which are made of ceramic or titanium.
