Among the British watchmakers of XVIII century John Arnold takes a special place. During his life John Arnold created more than 5 000 marine chronometers, which he successfully sold to the British Navy and West-Indian company. Once the Arnold & Son watches were a symbol of exact time reading among navigators. Today the brand hasn’t lost this feature: the watches of Arnold & Son are provided with main navigation functions. The famous explorers, such as Franklin, captain Phipps, captain Cook, Ernest Shackleton , Dr Livingstone and others wore the Arnold & Son watches with pleasure.
Some years ago the Swiss group “British Masters” revived the manufacture and started making the Swiss watches “Arnold & Son” again. The company collaborates with the manufactory “La Joux – Perret”, which makes the movements for Swiss watches. Both companies are situated in industrial district of the most mountain city in Europe - La Chaux-de-Fonds.
