Tissot Watch Company opens a new warehouse and new opportunities

Tissot Watch Company has opened in Le Locle its new warehouse, equipped with the latest technology for storage of finished models and components for them. Due to it Tissot is now able to send 5-6 million finished watches per a year that more the current evaluation in twice.

External design of a built warehouse is not part of the watch factory, but rather a masterpiece of postmodernism as a set of cubes on each other. The area of the new watch warehouse is 7500 m3. In this space it is deployed a structure providing the storage of 32 000 postal offices and storage of finished watches Tissot or details to them in amounts of about 12 million.

Five robots serve this grand depot - rather quick, which can travel at a speed of 5 meters per second. Parts or finished watches are stacked in a warehouse with enormous conveyor system, total length of 540 meters. When watches are delivered to the warehouse cube, each instance is recorded immediately in a special database. This allows employees to immediately make the system orders for shipment watches or parts. The box with the required order is delivered immediately into the zone of the package.

The new warehouse of Tissot is a big and even futuristic spectacle. Someone might be a few cautious by such modernization: anonymous conveyors and robots next to the exclusive and often limited watches do not look perfect combination. However, in todays rapidly growing of the global market it is a necessity, which nevertheless does not affect on the exclusivity and attention to each model by Tissot.
