In Paris the world's largest boutique of luxury watches is planning to open. Its area will be 2000 square meters. On this area the watch brands such as Breitling, Baume & Mercier, Rolex, Piaget, TAG Heuer, Chopard, and Longines will be presented.
The largest Paris store of watches will be started in 2013 on the Boulevard des Capucines, in place of the famous Old England. It’s the place in Paris of the greatest congestion of tourists willing to spend really big money on a watch. Therefore, this strategic location is just perfect for the world's largest watch store.
The store Old England will be closed as early as March of 2012, after 144 years of existence. The matter is that Old England was recognized by the owner as non-profitable. Nevertheless, it is planning to preserve the historical heritage of the place, so a storefront the will be subject to repair that new owners will replace for more durable one. The facade of the historic building will remain the same; just the place of Old England will be taken by the world's largest luxury watch store.
For such acquisition Richemont Group gave 15 million dollars. Old England is probably worth it, given the strategic position in Paris. For many fans of the famous shop Old England it is, of course, a real tragedy. However, their sorrow will be probably consoled by a great variety of watches by most famous and respected worldwide Swiss watches.
