| Wristwatch Masque Japon is a part of set series Metiers d’Art Les Masques, produced in 2008. This model has round form of case with diameter of 40 mm, as previous. It is made from yellow gold, dial is covered with sapphire crystal, went complicated process of metalization, to emphasize the brightness of colors. Watch Vacheron Constantin Masque Japon is equipped with leather strap. Movement with the help of automatic winding let it to work about 40 hours. Like another wristwatches of this series, Masque Japon show day of the week, date and time in four apertures on the dial with the help of discs movments. The main specialty of this wristwatch is decoration in the image of small Japanese mask the end of period Edo. Prototype has highness in 27 mm, made from varnishing and gold-plated tree. The scientists date making of this mask by end of XIX century. It images the face of one of budha – Amitabhi (Amid). His name translated as “endless life” or “endless light”. Budha Amid worshiped as symbol of wisdom and was popular among fighters of that times, as he considered to be guide to the afterworld for future reincarnation. It is known that Japanese budhists religious sculpture began to develop earlier than painting.
