Breva Presents Génie 01 Timepiece

The watch company Breva, founded in 2010 Vincent Dupontreué, has released the model Génie 01 - the world's first fully mechanical watch with time, power reserve, altimeter and barometer. The caliber of the novelty was designed by Jean-Francois Mojon from studio Chronode.

Located on the dial, the numerous indicators allow its owner to be aware of the current time, altitude, range and weather forecasts on their own barometer. The hours and minutes are displayed on the translucent sub-dial from the smoked sapphire glass on top of a main indicator of the dial with a small second’s window at 12 o'clock position. A scale, which displays the high, curves as an arch above the upper perimeter of the dial. Barometer by which to measure the pressure is available at the 2 o’clock position.
The pointer of the 65-hour power reserve is at the 4 o’clock position, at the 6 o’clock position is located a capsule, which measures atmospheric pressure, and next to it - the other capsule, to enhance the sensitivity to small changes in pressure.

Génie 01 by Breva - Back & Front

The model Génie 01 has three crowns with dual functions. Located at the 9 o’clock position, the crown is designed for the winding and setting the time. Placed at the 2 o’clock position, the convex crown is used to set the scale of the barometer, and its internal button - to set the position of the altimeter. Another crown is at the 4 o’clock position. It is equipped with a ring that is rotated by 90 °, to open or close the pneumatic valve. The valve in the open position allows some air to agree pressure inside the watch of external atmospheric pressure. Reliability of the watch is provided by osmotic membrane filter water from the air before it gets inside the caliber. Above the crown, there is a special red light with the inscription “SEALED”.

A sapphire crystal, also set on the back cover, through which is possible to observe the work of the caliber, protects the original dial. When the mechanism is winding, the outlets of the compass rotate, located on top of the main coil spring.
The original watch Génie 01 is released in a limited edition - 55 items in a white gold case and 55 items, made of pink gold.
