SIHH 2013

This year, in January 25, at the Geneva Palexpo exhibition center the 23-rd Salon of Haute Horlogerie - SIHH 2013 closed its doors. As it is known, there are involved 16 famous watch brands - A. Lange & Söhne, Audemars Piguet, Baume & Mercier, Cartier, Greubel Forsey, IWC, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Montblanc, Officine Panerai, Parmigiani Fleurier, Piaget, Ralph Lauren, Richard Mille, Roger Dubuis, Vacheron Constantin, Van Cleef & Arpels, which impressed everyone with their innovations.
It must be noted that this year there was an increase of mastery of each brand. For example, A. Lange & Söhne has presented the most difficult in the entire watch history the timepiece with minute repeater, the development of which that took over 7 years. The watchmakers Piaget has presented a record ultra-thin repeater, the mechanism of which has the thickness of 4.8 mm. The brand Audemars Piguet has released the minute repeater in a vintage case.
This year, the company was struck both with a variety of new models and with the use of different and new materials. So, the brand Roger Dubuis chose silicon for its watch Excalibur Quatuor, whose case is made entirely of this material. It is much stronger than steel and titanium, which are commonly used for the manufacture of watches.

IWC brand due to the cooperation with Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One Team has developed new products with cases made of titanium aluminide, platinum, and ceramics and carbon fiber.
Another top of Haute Horlogerie, which is won by all watch brands - is art craft designed for dressing models. As for the incomparable design, we should remember about the watches of the jewelry and watches house Van Cleef & Arpels. The gorgeous models with enamel dials of this brand amazed everyone.
It should be noted the new items from the legendary brand Vacheron Constantin, which has presented a beautiful part of the world a gift - three new timepeices with multiple crafts: guilloche, engraving, hot enamel, inlaid with precious stones.
Parmigiani watches are quite original, by using techniques of marquetry, which is a miniature wooden jigsaw puzzle.
However, the leader in the number of new products, in which are used techniques, is the company Cartier. "Etruscan granulation" in the model Sartier Rotonde Panthere Granulation recalls ancient forgotten techniques and recreates the usual way of the Panthers in an unusual way.
Annual exhibition SIHH 2013 reaffirmed its important place in the watch industry.
