The world's first pilot’s watch with an accelerometer
Finnish watchmaker De Motu Watches Ltd has developed a unique model for aviators. This is a DMG 11 watch, with the complication in the form of an accelerometer, which at the time of flight determines the amount of congestion affecting on the pilot. This is the first watch in the world with a similar function.
DMG 11 has a square stainless steel case with rounded corners, to which due to DLC-coated is given the black color. The dimensions of the square case is 48 mm, its thickness is 12.8 mm and water resistant to 10 meters. At the 7 o’clock position on the case there is a reset button of accelerometer readings. The DMG 11 watch weighs 147 grams.
Hour, minute and second hands are on the side dial. The 6 o’clock position is the date window. The main space is occupied by the black dial with white labels for the accelerometer and its two central hands. One hand of the accelerometer shows the current overload value, and the second - the maximum of the measured values. The marking, respectively, is from 0 to 10 g. Inside the watch is set the manufacturing electro-mechanical mechanism De Motu DM 101 on the 14 jewels with a diameter of 41mm and a thickness of 7.7 mm.
The DMG 11 watch is delivered on the black strap with white stitching. The model is released in a limited edition of 88 items.
A curious fact: the manufactory and office of De Motu Watches Ltd is located in the premises of the Helsinki-Miami airport. The company was founded by Sami Kontio in 2007.
