New records at Christie's auction

The Geneva office of the famous auction house Christie's in 2011 concludes on a very positive note. The amount of its annual revenue has received from all held auctions of 181.6 million Swiss francs, and it is 62% more than last year.

For conducted from May to November the total auction revenue was 125,411,575 francs. Part of this sum was, of course, the sales of wristwatches.
New world record set prices on jewelry watches, adorned with gray diamonds, as well as watches Patek Philippe (ref. 3448) with a perpetual calendar. Ended last week the auction showed excellent results in all categories. Their income was 86,078,740 francs, more 38% in comparison with November of the last year.

In November 16 the auction in Geneva brought more than 61 million dollars, because the price during the bidding rose to unprecedented levels, particularly for products that have been encrusted with gray diamonds. For example, a ring with a gray diamond purity SI1, weighing 10.67 carats - sold for 1.095 million despite the fact that the initial price was a maximum of 180 000 francs. A pair of earrings with emeralds was sold by Christie's for 2.827 million Swiss francs.

Recently, on November 14 in Switzerland, the famous watch auction Important Watches was held, which became a tense nine-hour marathon. In its category, this auction has demonstrated record results in this year. The exceptional success of the Christie's auction is provided, above all, by a carefully selected collection of rare watches. All watches were exposed generous technical and historical background and presented in excellent condition.

The total amount received from sales of watches from May to November of this year is 46 million Swiss francs. Thus, the auction house Christie's can rightly be recognized as the source of the most interesting and sought after by collectors of rare watches.
