Lightweight and Exclusive Blue Triplettes by B.R.M.
One year ago, watchmaker Bernard Richards Manufacture and the design team Les Triplettes de Bonneville decided to set new speed records on the renowned Bonneville Salt Flats. The Triplettes currently hold nine world speed records, and like the watches of BRM, their machines embody all the uniqueness for which French design and engineering is known. Now, BRM introduces an automatic wristwatch to commemorate these record-breaking achievements, and in that same record-breaking spirit, have made it the lightest of its kind in the world. Using Makrolon® for the watch face has enabled the weight of this timepiece to be reduced to a mere 29 grams the lightest of any automatic watch. For series production, and in order to assure water resistance and maximum strength, sapphire has been chosen rather than Makrolon, increasing weight slightly to 42 grams. BRM will produce a limited edition of 25 “Blue Triplettes” watches to celebrate the achievements of Les Triplettes de Bonneville. The lightened Precitime movement is set in a skeleton case, the lugs and crowns entirely carved from a solid block and the weight reduced to the last possible gram. The retail price of this record-setting BRM is 7,200€.
