SIHH 2012

From 16 to 20 of January, 2012, the international salon of haute horlogerie SIHH will open its doors. The professionals and connoisseurs of watch industry will be able to see luxurious products of 18 luxe watch brands, joined in holding of luxe products “Richemont”. The products from Richemont group will be exhibited in hall of 30 thousand sq. m. Every year the salon takes place in Palexpo in Geneva, which is situated 10 minutes away by car from the center of Geneva.
Over 20 years SIHH has been gathering perfect creations of haute horlogerie under one roof. The perfect quality of products, presented at exhibition, and policy of selected distribution is an engine of haute horlogerie and SIHH. The main purpose of international salon SIHH is presentation of perfect creations – homage to past epochs – to selected people. The specific feature of event: sophisticated atmosphere of professionalism and keeping traditional values of watch world in every detail.
SIHH was first held in 1991. Then only 5 brands were exhibited: Baume & Mercier, Cartier, Piaget, Gérald Genta, Franck Müller, and the area of exhibiting hall made up only 4.500 sq. m. The exhibition was aimed to offer luxurious watches to privileged clients. During 20 years the salon has widened significantly in exhibiting area, and number of exhibited brands, and significance. Over 20 years this elite international salon has become an important event, devoted to development of haute horlogerie and attraction of elite distributors. Acquiring new ideas, the watch exhibition SIHH keeps on giving tribute to great traditions of watchmaking.
SIHH 2012 is a close event. The salon will be visited only by 12.500 invited persons (retailers, journalists and representative of manufactories). Of course, it’s rather small number of visitors for such significant event in the watch world, but the salon SIHH 2012 still keeps its “exclusive” status.
SIHH 2011 was focused mostly on pocket and wrist watches, but SIHH 2012 will be devoted to watches from Renaissance to the beginning of 20th century. SIHH 2012 will be held at the same time with exhibition in Musée Rath, which will have its title "Watchmaking in Geneva. The Magic of Craftsmanship, Treasures of Gold and Enamel".
The 22nd exhibition SIHH will take place in the end of fruitful year, marked with record number of sophisticated watch sales. The technical and jewelry watchmaking continues combining traditions and innovations, craftsmanship and advanced technologies.
