In 2010 the Swiss Antoine Preziuso watch company produced the biggest men's watch with a tourbillon – the “Monumental Tourbillon” model. It is build on the basis of a 1928 pocket watch, equipped with a Vallée de Joux movement. The rarity movement with black polished rounded rims and round graining is equipped with a balance with adjustment screws and a Breguet balance spiral, providing the classic 18 800 half-oscillations per hour frequency. The caliber provides a 40-hour power reserve and the precise and failure-free central hands' operation. In the 30-s of the last century the watch was awarded the first prize for chronometry. The ancient movement is hand-decorated in “Cotes de Geneve” style. Huge attention has always been paid to movements decoration. Additional finishing makes it more perfect not only from the aesthetic point of view, but also from the practical one: the finished surface “hold back” dust, not letting it get to the jewel bearing lubricator box.
The watch's non-standard shape highlights its technical advantages to the maximum and the smooth lines of the solid construction radiate nobility and sophistication. The double-leveled combined and partially skeletonized dial is visually divided by 2 sectors. The left skeletonized side demonstrates the complicated movement's operation and the right one has classic execution – a traditional disc with sculptured Roman digits (from I to VI).
The massive 65-mm case is made of an 18-carat rose gold and titanium combination. The dial is protected with a sapphire crystal. The overall watch model's aesthetics is supplemented by a black alligator leather strap. You can watch the tourbillon's operation through the transparent look-through aperture on the case back.
The watch is produced in limited edition of just 5 individually numbered pieces. The registration number is situated at the “12” position. The model's creation is dedicated to the launch of the new Antoine Preziuso boutique in the luxurious “Wafi City Mall” trade centre.
Wafi City Mall is one of the most chic trade centres in Dubai. The building has the shape of a glass pyramid. The trade centre is guarded by 2 huge sphinxes and inside there are statues of pharaohs, as well as the Karnak heraldic columns, hieroglyphs and arrays of multicoloured stained-glass windows on the walls. In 2008 Wafi City Mall was awarded the “Best Trade Centre” prize.
The new Antoine Preziuso boutique with the square of 250 square metres has both the brand's latest watch models and jewelery.
