Franck Muller and Amador Montes Create Four Vanguard Slim Editions

Franck Muller announced the Vanguard Slim Amador Montes on 21 October 2026, presenting four limited versions developed with Mexican artist Amador Montes. The collaboration uses the curved Vanguard case as a setting for a dial incorporating motifs associated with the artist's work. Across the four variants, the stated production totals 60 watches.
An artist's motifs on the dial
Montes has worked across exhibitions in the Americas, Europe and Asia. For the watch project, Franck Muller says the design draws on recurring images from his work, including a crane fly motif that influenced the form of the hands. The camel-coloured, micro-blasted dial includes illustrations and personal references connected to the artist.
The design extends beyond the dial. A pink crown provides a contrasting accent, while engravings on the caseback continue the visual treatment. Rather than reproducing a conventional painting on the watch face, the collaboration incorporates elements of Montes's imagery into the functional components and case details.

Four case and size combinations
Franck Muller offers the Vanguard Slim Amador Montes in steel and 18K rose gold, with two case sizes for each material. The 41 mm steel edition accounts for half the announced production. The three other versions are limited to ten pieces each.
- Stainless steel, 41 mm: 30 pieces
- 18K rose gold, 41 mm: 10 pieces
- Stainless steel, 35 mm: 10 pieces
- 18K rose gold, 35 mm: 10 pieces
- Total announced production: 60 pieces
- Movement: in-house automatic
Mechanical and artistic elements
The manufacturer identifies an in-house self-winding movement for the collaboration. Automatic winding uses the movement of the wearer's wrist to replenish energy stored in the mainspring.
The Vanguard family is known for its tonneau-shaped case, with curved sides that define the silhouette. The Amador Montes editions keep that basic architecture while introducing a different set of dial, crown and caseback details. The watches therefore sit within an existing case family rather than forming a wholly new model line.
