January 17, 2013 a single expedition of Vilborg Arna Gissurardottir ended. She overcame 1140 km at temperatures down to - 40 degrees, becoming the first Icelandic and the 9th woman in the world, conquered the South Pole alone. The Arctic Explorer watch by the Icelandic watchmaker Michelsen Watchmakers is responsible for the timing of the expedition.

The wrist watch with three hands and calendar is presented in a round steel case of 42 mm with a rotating bezel and an additional 24-hour hand, allowing the traveler to determine the time in different time zones. The watch features Swiss ETA 2893-A2, which continues to operate even in extreme cold to -50 degrees.
