Today, many companies produce single-needle watches, it seemed, they have no surprise. However, the designers of the German company Neuhaus Inventing Timepieces managed still to "surprise" amateurs of the unique delights with the release of a single-needle watch with a fundamentally new indication system.
The only hand of the Janus Double Speed watch makes not a full circle for 12 hours, but for 6 ones. At first glance, the dial can be a bit chaotic because of the double signs, but the time it is determined without much difficulty. On the black disc in contrast are highlighted six pairs of hour markers, a pair for the each six hours of the dial. Due to fewer hour markers, the distance between the divisions is increased and, consequently, improved readability of the dial. The absence of a second’s hand is offset by a small aperture at the 6 o’clock position, through which is seen a black and white spinning disc.
