Besançon Observatory officially certifies Galet Micro Rotor by Laurent Ferrier
After completion of all test items set out in ISO315, the watch movement Galet Micro Rotor, introduced in 2012 by the Swiss company Laurent Ferrier, was officially certified by Besançon Observatory as a chronometer.
During 16 days, the mechanism was subjected to continuous testing of five positions at different temperatures. As a result, a unique caliber was awarded a certificate «Bulletin de marche au Chronomètre».
Caliber Galet Micro Rotor is equipped by a unidirectional micro-rotor automatic dual controlled descent, which directly affects the balance wheel, and the dog-breaker. To create a caliber the company’s masters have used "natural" anchor descent, was first developed by A.-L. Breguet.

The descent of silicone with a direct pulse - 2 pulses for 1 swing - is installed directly on the balance sheet. The main guilloche rotor is equipped with 18K gold micro-rotor with unidirectional winding. The rotor is displaced from the center and posted on the platinum between the bridges. The rotor is fastened on the axis by two rubies.
The thickness of the mechanism, in spite of this complication is only 4.35 mm. Movement consists of 186 components, has a balance frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour and an 80-hour power reserve. To finish the caliber used Côtes de Genève pattern and pearlage. Internal corners of the balance bridge are finished by hand with engraving tool, the spokes of a wheel are beveled, and screw heads are polished.
