Novelty by Ladoire - RGT “Origin Of The Sun” Watch

The well-known Swiss company Ladoire has presented to fans of Haute Horlogerie a new version of its unique watch Roller Guardian Time (RGT), better known under the name “Origin Of The Sun”. With the releasing of the novelty the brand has offered his respects to the victims of Japan and the disaster that befell her, and therefore the proceeds from the sale of new watch will be transferred to charity.
The watch has fairly large dimensions, allowed to use a combination of features such as additional minutes, and second’s dials, retrograde hour display and a big hand of the second time zone.
The case of the RGT “Origin Of The Sun” in a width of 56 mm (there is also a version of a width of 45 mm) and a thickness of 16.3 mm is made of 18 carat white gold, on which is applied black PVD-coating. Insertions of titanium, adorning the case, enhance the splendor of the external appearance of the watch. For the creating of the bezel and case back is also used 18K white gold coated with black PVD. A double-sided antiglare sapphire crystal protects the case from two sides. The case is waterproof to 50 meters.
The novelty is designed based on an automatic mechanism, developed by company Calvet. The unique caliber, paved with 26 jewels, has a thickness of 9.3 mm and a width of 39.5 mm (there is an option with a width of 29.5 mm). Balance frequency of caliber is 18 000 pc / h. The reliability and maximum accuracy of the caliber with a 48-hour power reserve are provided by the anchor mechanism 15.1. Indication of time - hours, minutes, and seconds - translates into a reality with the help of disks mounted on ceramic ball bearings.
The specificity of the novelty’s design is a pattern of red rising sun, which is also considered a key element of the imperial flag of Japan. Its image is recreated on the bridge of the mechanism. The basic plate of the caliber, executed in red, passed the manual processing. The remaining half of it is presented in a soft silver color, which matched with the color of stitching on the strap. The caseback is decorated with engraving “Origin Of The Sun”.
To buy the RGT “Origin Of The Sun” watch will be for 211,000 Swiss francs at the upcoming auction to be held in the near future, in Geneva. 30% of the proceeds from the sale of watches will go to fund of the Red Cross in Japan, which continues to provide humanitarian and material support to tsunami victims.
The new RGT “Origin Of The Sun” watch by Ladoire is available on a wide black calf leather strap adorned with brass silicone inserts and equipped with a compound buckle made of titanium coated with black PVD and white gold.
