Classical is eternal: new Galet Classic watch by Laurent Ferrier

Swiss watchmaker Laurent Ferrier has announced a new version of the model Galet Classic, the premiere of which will be held at the upcoming international exhibition BaselWorld 2012.
Novelty is a magnificent example of classical style. The round watch case is made of perfectly polished 18K rose gold. Case diameter is relatively small for the male model - only 41 mm. The front side of the case is equipped with a sapphire crystal, which serves also as a transparent case back. Screwed-down crown is located on the case at the 3 o’clock position. The watch water-resistant is up to 30 meters.
Bluish-gray dial of the novelty from 18K gold is graded by large applied gold Roman numerals. Time is indexed on the dial by means of the central hour and minute hands, which also made of gold. Small seconds hand is put out to the lateral dial at the 6 o’clock position. But the tourbillon is hidden from prying eyes. Its carriage is located on the back of the caliber, and to monitor its operation is possible only through the sapphire glass of the case back.
Inside the watch case of Galet Classic is integrated a manufacturing mechanism FNB913.01 with manual winding and two inverted spring-balance, contributing to improve the accuracy. A reliable and durable mechanism, collected at 23 jewels, provides an 80-hour power reserve and the balance frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour.
The novelty comes on a brown alligator strap with an inner layer made of Alcantara. The buckle on the strap is made of 18K rose gold.
