Excellence Collection by Louis Erard at GTE 2012

The watch company Louis Erard at the Geneva Time Exhibition has presented a collection of Excellence, created in 2011 to celebrate the 80th anniversary. The presentation of the lineup was held at the annual exhibition of jewelry and watches BaselWorld 2011.
The collection is presented by four models - Excellence Regulator Power Reserve, Excellence Power Reserve, Excellence Moon Phase 24 hour Chronograph and Excellence Ladies' Chronograph. All models are designed in a neoclassical style - understated and elegant at the same time. The watches with perfectly polished cases, frosted white dials, which contrast with the large Roman numerals and leaf-shaped hands, can rightly be called the quintessential of neo-classics.
Based on past traditions and modern technologies, the brand from Noirmont has created a true masterpiece of watchmaking art Excellence Regulator Power Reserve, which organically combines the legendary accuracy of the controller and classic design. The watch is built on the base of mechanism with manual winding ETA 7001 RE9, equipped with the Power Reserve Regulator module. Indication of hours and seconds is carried out by means of the displaced to "12" and "6" o'clock dials, the minutes are shown by the central hand. At "9" o’clock position is posted a power reserve indicator.
The watch is made in two versions - a stainless steel (Ref. 54 230 AA 01) and rose gold (Ref. 54 230 OR 01, limited edition of 80 items).

Excellence Power Reserve also made in two versions - stainless steel (Ref. 53 230 AA 01) and 18 K rose gold (Ref. 53 230 OR 01, limited edition of 80 copies). The models are collected on the basis of Swiss movement with manual winding Eta 7001 RM 10.
Inside the 40 mm watch case is set a white dial with the large markings and three-level digital display system: the central hands indicate the hours and minutes, the seconds hand is derived by a small dial located at the "6" o’clock position, and power reserve indicator is located at the position between "10" and "11" o’clock. The dial is protected by a durable sapphire crystal. The watches come with leather straps: steel version is available on a black strap, golden – on a brown one.

Excellence Moon Phase 24 (Ref. 80 231 AA 01) watch - the most beautiful and versatile model of the collection, created for fans of traditional mechanics. The watch is equipped with a number of complications - chronograph with calendar, moon phase indicator, the indicator of day time, are based on ETA 7751 mechanism. The watch design is laid out in detail: in spite of the advanced functionality, the dial is not overloaded: a pointer of the moon phases with a 12 hour counter is located at 6 o'clock, seconds dial and 24-hour pointer - at 9 o’clock, 30 minutes counter, a pointer of day and month - at 12 o’clock. On the inside of the bezel is set the date scale on which is pointed an additional central hand with crescent tip. The watch case diameter in 42 mm is made of stainless steel.

Excellence Ladies' Chronograph watch is designed for sporty women who do not want to compromise on the elegance. Chronographs with 36 mm case are made of stainless steel (Ref. 82 234 SE 01) or rose gold (Ref. 82 234 OS 01), equipped with mother of pearl dial, shimmering shades of which blends perfectly with the brilliance of diamonds encrusted on the bezel.
Watches are equipped with a Swiss ETA 2094 mechanism. The dial has a three-layer system displays: the central hands show hours, minutes, seconds, chronograph counters are located at position "3", "6" and "9" hours, date aperture is located between the "3" and "4" o’ clock.

In creating this collection, the designers have developed a corporate identity style of Louis Erard. The brand, the production of which externally could easily qualify for membership in the Haute Horlogerie, still prefer to stay in the "middle class", proving with its existence, that the class has a strong position in the watch industry. During the global financial crisis, experts have argued that "the company will come hard times." However, thanks to well-designed development strategy, it has managed to survive, and, moreover, to assert its position in the global watch market.
