Yema’s Senans Grande Lune is a 38.5 mm moonphase watch with the automatic micro-rotor CMM.22, limited to 200 pieces per dial color and priced from $2,790 in the US. Black, blue and champagne dials inaugurate the Senans collection, whose name comes from the Royal Saltworks of Arc-et-Senans near the brand’s workshops in eastern France.

A stationary moon and a moving shadow

The lunar display occupies an aperture at seven o’clock. A sculpted moon remains fixed beneath the dial while a rotating, two-lobed mechanical element passes over it, progressively exposing and covering its surface to show the lunar cycle.

Yema forms the moon from a solid block of Grade X Super-LumiNova using Globolight technology. Its domed surface reproduces lunar markings. Luminous material also appears on the hour markers, hands and ring surrounding the central dial decoration.

A micro-rotor movement beneath a textured dial

The center carries a stamped barleycorn pattern inspired by intersecting natural spirals, bordered by a circular-brushed outer section. Alternating long and short applied markers sit beneath a raised minute track. The watch displays hours and minutes without a seconds hand.

The CMM.22 builds on Yema’s CMM.20 micro-rotor architecture, adding the moonphase mechanism and adjustment through the crown. An anthracite electroplated finish covers the bridges, with polished screws visible through the sapphire back. According to Monochrome, the tungsten micro-rotor runs on ball bearings and the movement operates at 4 Hz.
