KUOE Royal Smith 90-006 Debuts Miyota 9085 with an 80-Hour Reserve

KUOE introduced the Royal Smith 90-006 80 hrs on 28 October 2026, introducing Miyota's new automatic calibre 9085 to the Kyoto brand's collection. The movement provides approximately 80 hours of power reserve. The watch is offered in 35 mm and 39 mm sizes and three dial colours, with initial online pre-orders beginning on 30 October in Japan.
A new movement for the Royal Smith line
KUOE's earlier watches have often used Japanese automatic movements, but the 90-006 80 hrs represents a shift in running time. According to KUOE, the Miyota 9085 provides approximately twice the reserve associated with the widely used Miyota 9015. The extended reserve means the watch can continue running through much of a weekend after being removed on Friday evening, assuming it is sufficiently wound.
Details visible through the exhibition caseback include Geneva stripes on the rotor and heat-blued screws. The manufacturer also specifies hand winding and a stop-seconds mechanism for accurate time setting. The new movement is not a claim of Swiss manufacture: KUOE is a Kyoto-based Japanese watch company and Miyota is a Japanese movement manufacturer.
Two case sizes and KUOE's first Roman-numeral dial
KUOE has used applied Roman numerals for the first time in this Royal Smith design. The two-level dial combines circular brushing in its lower area with a semi-matte upper finish. Plume-shaped hour and minute hands and a heat-blued seconds hand reinforce the classical styling.
Ivory, Blue and Green versions are supplied with corresponding Italian leather straps. The launch covers six combinations: each dial colour in either 35 mm or 39 mm. An example is the 35 mm blue version, manufacturer SKU 006rm-bl-it-vgr, with a 316L steel case, PVD finish and a case thickness of 10.8 mm. KUOE lists a domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, a screw-down crown and 10-bar water resistance for this reference.

Pre-orders and delivery
KUOE scheduled Japanese pre-orders for 11:00 a.m. JST on 30 October 2026 and planned initial deliveries from approximately February 2027. It also scheduled in-person previews at its Kyoto and Omotesando shops from 29 October. The manufacturer describes the initial 1,000-watch batch as an allocation for first orders rather than a permanently numbered limited edition.
Beyond the additional running time, this launch gives KUOE a new dial architecture and a second case size within the Royal Smith line. The two sizes share the concept while offering different wrist proportions.
