History and culture of Russia became the inspiration for designers of Swiss watch company Ulysse Nardin. Company produced several models inspired by historical heritage of Russia. Design of watches Spasskaya Tower (Ref. 266-61-3/TOWER) is inspired by architect of Spasskaya tower of Moscow Kremlin. Color of dial, form of hands and Roman numerals remind of Kremlin chimes, fixed on Spasskaya tower. Model is equipped with manufacture movemnt UN-26 on the base of ETA 2892. Case with diameter 43 mm is made from 18-karat rose gold. Black dial on which except central hands and numeral indexes are situated date aperture and indicator of 42-hours power reserve, protected with sapphire crystal with anti-reflecting coating. Rubber strap with gold inserts is integrated in round case. And bezel with wavelike pattern gives to model esthetic perfection. Watch is very practical and durable: water resistance of model is up to 200 meters. Watches Spasskaya Tower are produced in limited series in 250 pieces. On the back case of the model is engraved miniature painting of Spasskaya tower. This watches are present for Russians who live abroad and have nostalgia on mother country. Spasskaya tower is one of 20 towers of Moscow Kremlin, entering on Red Square. In marquee of tower is fixed famous watch – chimes. Tower was built in 1491 under the leadership of Italian architect Pietro Antonio Solari. Evidence about this kept on white stone plates with memorable inscription, fixed on the tower. Firstly tower called Frolovskaya. First watches on the tower were fixed in 1491. Later it was changed and restaurateur. In 1624-1625 English architect Christopher Galloway and Russian master Bazhen Ogurtsov made on the tower multilevel top in Gothic style with high stone marquee. |
