| On exhibition SIHH 2011, which went in Geneva at the end of previous year, watch and jewelery house Van Cleef & Arpels presented new models, united in collection Les 4 Voyages Extraordinaires. On its creation masters of the company were inspired by series of novels of French scientists geographer Jules Verne, famous with his series of science fiction novels called “Unusual trips”. Wristwatch A Journey to the Center of the Earth (Ref. A Journey to the Center of the Earth) is decorated with enamel miniature, plot of which inspired with science fiction novels Jules Verne called “ A Journey to the Center of the Earth”. On the dial of this model is painted stone berth with erupting volcano on the background. To the shore is coming sailing ship. This miniature is made with the help of unusual technique called “paillonne”. Under its creation worked Dominique Baron, whose works gave to the company Van Cleef & Arpels many amazed comments. As a base for painting was used thin plate from white gold, on which engraver played all relief details of the painting. On the pattern applies several layers of enamel ocher color, having transparent texture. As another wristwatch of this series, model A Journey to the Center of the Earth has round case. Its diameter is 42 mm. Water resistance is up to 30 meters. Case is made from white gold 18K. On the wrist wristwatch A Journey to the Center of the Earth fix with the help of strap from natural alligator leather with gold insert. Its bright brown color chosen to the tone of the dial.
