BaselWorld 2014: Parallax Tourbillon by Grönefeld

The Dutch company Grönefeld has released a new limited model Parallax Tourbillon, which will be officially presented at the international exhibition BaselWorld 2014. The model name «Parallax» comes from the term "parallax", which means changing the apparent position of the object relative to the remote background, depending on the observer`s position. It is about minimizing the possibility of errors due to parallax visual indication of seconds by the maximum approximation pointer of the central second`s hand to the surface of an appropriate scale on the dial. The novelty is presented in two versions: stainless steel (12 items) and 18-carat pink gold (28 items).

The cases are round, polished, with a diameter of 43 mm and the thickness - 12.5 mm. Water-resistant - 30 meters. The crown is located at the 3 o`clock position and adorned with the Grönefeld`s logo. The complex silver multi-level dial features an additional dial at the 2 o`clock position to indicate hours and minutes, analog power reserve indicator at the 11 o`clock position and blued hands. At the 7 o`clock position is placed the tourbillon carriage. On the front side of the case is set double anti-reflective sapphire crystal, and on the back cover - the flat sapphire crystal, through which is possible to observe the work of the manufacturing movement with manual winding G- 03 , of 278 parts.

The mechanism on the 27 jewels is fitted with a frequency 21600 vibrations per hour, power reserve of 3 days, and functions of hours, minutes, seconds, power reserve, the ability to switch modes in the crown and set the time (analog pointer at the 4 o`clock position) and a flying minute tourbillon. The new Parallax Tourbillon comes on a dark blue or brown alligator strap with a buckle in stainless steel or 18 - carat pink gold. The price of the model in stainless steel - € 134,250, in a case of 18 - carat pink gold - € 137450.
