BaselWorld 2013: DB25 Imperial Fountain by De Bethune

In April 25, its doors to the annual international exhibition BaselWorld 2013 will open, where the watch brand De Bethune will officially present its collection DB25 Imperial Fountain. The models included in the collection, are issued in a single copy.

These are 12 original novelties, the dials of which are decorated with animal heads - eastern zodiac symbols. An artist Michelle Rothen created the figures of watch dials of De Bethune DB25 Imperial Fountain. To create these unique pieces, she inspired by bronze statues that adorn the fountain Hayyantan of Yuanming Yuan Old Summer Palace in Beijing. 12 statues of animals surround the Hayyantan fountain, just an hour water flowed from the mouth of one animal, and at the 12 o’clock water jets began to spurt out of their mouths.

Animal heads are placed on the enamel dial, made of the Grand Feu technique. The caliber allows freeing the center of the dial to accommodate the heads, pushing the indication of hours and minutes to the edge by the rotating discs.
