BaselWorld 2012: Novelties by Sarpaneva Company

Finnish watchmaker Sarpaneva at international exhibitionKorona K0 BaselWorld 2012 has introduced a new diver's watch Korona K0, the concept of which was first announced in 2010. The watches of the Finnish company gained popularity because of its unusual design, which peculiar distinction is a stylized image of the moon. Not accidentally, the first watches of Stepan Sarpaneva, the founder and chief master of Sarpaneva company, - Korona K2 Kaamos in Finnish language means the polar night.
At the exhibition the company has introduced at once three new versions: Korona K0, Korona K0 Two-Tone, and Korona K0 DLC Black. All three models are distinctive for a particular feature of the company's watches - a dial with lattice structure and the central hands, made in the characteristic shape and coated with phosphor coating.
But the dial of the novelties are not completely blocked by bars, so as not to touch the rotating unidirectional diving bezel, which is located on their inner side. Oblong applied hour indexes on the bezel are placed opposite round markers set closer to the center and covered with luminescent material. At the internal bezel, between 9 and 11 hour markers the brand’s logo is located.
The case in diameter of 46 mm and thickness of 11.2 mm is made of stainless steel. At 4 o’clock position is set the screwed-down crown, with which the time is setting and the inner bezel is controlled. The front side of the case is protected by an anti-reflective sapphire crystal with the thickness of 2.5 mm.
The novelties are designed based on a modified Swiss automatic movement Soprod A10 with diameter of 11.5 lines. The caliber, collected on the 25 jewels, provides a 42-hour power reserve and has a balance frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour. The mechanism is rhodium-plated and finished with Perlage. Functions: indication of hours, minutes, seconds.
The novelties are supplied on a black rubber strap.
To buy new diver's watches Korona K0 will be available through the official representatives of the company Sarpaneva.
