Tourbillon 24 Secondes Contemporain by Greubel Forsey at SIHH 2012

At the annual Salon Haute Horlogerie SIHH 2012 the company Greubel Forsey has introduced another masterpiece of precision mechanics - the Tourbillon 24 Secondes Contemporain watch.
In the new model is used a patented invention by Robert Greubel and Steven Forsey - «Tourbillon 24 Secondes Incliné», thanks to which the positional errors are compensated through a single ultra-light tourbillon carriage, placed at an angle and has a high rotational speed. Tourbillon, located at an angle 25 °, makes one complete revolution around its axis in 24 seconds. To achieve this speed in the production of the movement are used high-tech materials: the main plate and built bridges are made of titanium, coated with a bright blue color in the process of anodic oxidation, and decorated by hand. Bridges are made of nickel silver with palladium nickel-plated and polished beveled edges.
The mechanism consists of 267 parts, 88 of which accounted for tourbillion of 0.39 gram weight. The caliber works with a frequency of 21 600 pc / h, power reserve is 72 hours.
The reliable and durable mechanism is set in platinum round case with diameter of 43.5 mm.
By the creation of this model, the company's founders have expanded the boundaries of three-dimensional architecture of the watch. The effect of depth is accentuated by a bright blue dial, on which are placed the power reserve indicator, small seconds pointer and tourbillon. The bridge of the tourbillon is made of a sapphire crystal; the platform of the case is made of titanium coated with a bright blue color in the process of anodic oxidation. The sapphire bridge of the tourbillon creates the illusion of the light, as if suspended in the air, regulating block. The dial and central hands are also made of sapphire. The combination of simple and complex elements creates a perfect harmony and originality of the chronometer.
The watch on both sides is protected by the strong sapphire glass. It is supplied with handmade dark blue strap with a buckle-butterfly made of platinum 950.
