The watch brand Magellan: a dynamic awakening

Everhard Vissers, the founder of the watch making company Magellan and a passionate admirer of the mechanical watches, for several years has been working on the project for which he is encouraged by the compass of the ship. As a result of his researches the watch brand Magellan launched a line of Magellan 1521. The watch Magellan 1521 was an amazing structure – a hemispherical dial, hands and a sapphire crystal. The appearance of this watch calls to repeat the round trip of the Portuguese navigator Magellan, after who was named the company.
In 2010, Magellan was overbought by Mario G. Nargi. He is an experienced leader, decided not only to resume production of Magellan in 1521, but expanded the line with the new model Magellan Earth. In watches, reflecting the historical map of the Earth, the hands indicate the most realistic circular motion around its own axis. The shape of the circle repeats the contours of the hemisphere.
Traditional three hands are complemented by another patented hand, fixing the position of the sun above the Earth: the tracking data of longitude, which are indexed to the bezel, the user can determine which part of the world at this point at noon. Three-dimensional case is unique in its kind. The course of the watch is provided by a specially designed module based on ETA 2893 Automatic. The four hands are moving thanks to an ingenious system of nested tubes in it that are "responsible" for their work. The height of the dial requires a sapphire crystal in a maximal convex shape. This form of glass provides visibility of the dial. Under the sapphire crystal is also located the crown, which winds from the bottom. The plugs on the case remain outside the sign.
In the novelty the historical map of the world is replaced by a photograph of the Earth. New watches Magellan 1521 and Magellan Earth have a case in diameter of 43.5 mm and 19 mm in thick. The watch water-resistant is up to 30 meters. The models cases are made in several versions: stainless steel, rose gold and yellow gold. The surroundings of the planet are displayed on a 32-mm platinum brass – the pattern is created with colored lacquer on the surface, which is sandblasted. Longitude on the dial of Magellan 1521 is marked by pearl white paint, but on the dial of Magellan Earth - painted in black Tahitian. On the case backs of the watches planisphere is engraved.
The straps of the stainless steel models are made of ostrich leather in dark blue and for models with gold cases – of brown crocodile leather.
