The brand Cimier was founded by the watch company R. Lapanouse SA, which was opened by Lapanouse brothers in 1924. The watch company R. Lapanouse SA had other brands - Rego, Akanta, Test, Tipo and Felix-Le-Chat, but the brand Cimier became known very quickly.
Beginning of watch making of the company firm Lapanouse associated with a watch Roskopf, which were named in honor of the German watchmaker George Frederick Roscoff, created reliable mechanisms at a reasonable price. In 1954 the watch company Lapanouse SA changed its name to Cimier and in 1964 the company was headed by the famous watchmaker Robert Jaeger. After two years the company Cimier has released multifunctional chronograph with tachometer and telemetric scale, and in 1970 the brand began producing quartz watches.
In 2005 at the world's Fair in Basel the company introduced a line of mechanical watches “Cimier 1924". Cases of all models are made of 18 carat gold or stainless steel 316L, water resistance is up to 50 m.
In 2007 the collection Ñimier 1961 was released, which has included chronograph “Seven seas”. This chronograph has been released for travelers and for fans of adventure. The case of the model is made of stainless steel; glass is sapphire with anti-reflective coating. Strap is made of shark skin.
